At NYU Langone’s Ronald O. Perelman Department of Emergency Medicine, we believe that well-organized, intentional, innovative, and thoughtful medical student education is a hallmark of a world-renowned academic institution.

Through hands-on training at clinical sites including NYU Langone’s Ronald O. Perelman Center for Emergency Services in Manhattan and the emergency departments at NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue and NYU Langone Hospital—Brooklyn, we provide medical students at all levels with a fertile environment in which to excel.

Beginning in their preclinical years, medical students gain experience in patient care at our clinical sites via faculty mentorship programs and Emergency Medicine Interest Group workshops and shadowing sessions. We also offer the Fellowship for Students Underrepresented in Medicine for rising second-year medical students.

Medical students in their clinical years have the opportunity to participate in clinical rotations in our emergency departments. The Advanced Emergency Medicine Elective provides four weeks of valuable experience managing patient cases at our clinical sites.

As mentors, our faculty offer hands-on guidance to medical students interested in our Emergency Medicine Residency, providing assistance throughout the application process.
