Research
The Emergency Medicine research group promotes and facilitates high quality research in the area of urgent and emergent conditions in order to improve evidence based medicine, translational research and sustainable health oriented outcome investigation.
Under the supervision of the Chair for Emergency Medicine, the Executive Research Committee, EM Faculty and the direction of the Research Director, the Department of Emergency Medicine supports pioneering work being developed within the emergency care field and sustains research efforts within the clinical, academic, and translational research realm.
In addition to the excellence of our staff, our many partner organizations have greatly contributed to our ability to serve our patients more efficiently and effectively. At Bellevue Hospital, a close, working relationship has been developed with many departments in city government as we work to provide better care for our high frequency patients through a better understanding of the challenges they face. The Department of Emergency Medicine has engaged in studies on translational toxicology with the Poison Control Center, and to advanced education and training with the New York Simulation Center for the Health Sciences.
The research group will continue to help guide research studies and provide outcomes that will benefit our patients. These web pages are designed to clearly share the goals of the Department, how we will achieve those goals, and the people who will make it happen.
